Due to continued success, this leading NZ business has an opportunity for a Project Accountant to join them initially on a contract basis to assist them through a busy period. While this is a contract role there is the opportunity for the successful candidate to stay on permanently as the business is in growth mode and looking to increase their resource. This position would suit an ambitious and self-motivated professional, looking to build and progress their career.
The Project Accountant will manage spend and funding of new projects as well as managing the spend on purchased capital assets. Responsibilities will also include the reconciliation of all capital asset balance sheet accounts and the co-ordination of the budget process for capital expenditure. This position will gain exposure to a variety of areas within the remit of the financial reporting team and as such will require someone with a broad knowledge in IFRS compliance and the preparation of external financial reports.
In seeking applications for this role we would like to hear from people who are CA qualified or similar (or working towards their accounting qualifications). You will have gained experience in a Chartered Accounting practice throughout your career where you have worked with complex financial reporting. You will be motivated, able to cope well in a dynamic environment and will have excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of IFRS compliance and tax regulations is required.
